I love the oil set that I ordered, BUT there were so many delays getting started that I kind of lost steam in the start. I ordered my set the week before the class started but it didn't come till the week after. Then after watching the videos and doing the drawing assignments to keep busy in the waiting, I needed to watch them again to make sure what I was to supposed to be doing. When I finally started the painting assignments thinking they would dry over night, the first actually took a week. The second one, I went straight solvent and it also took a week to dry. Every time I started a new painting lesson, I discovered I needed something different than what I had. That included the paint. By the time I got into colors I was really frustrated that Elli used colors that didn't come with the set and I didn't know how to mix colors that would mimic them. Finally, I just stopped working, went shopping again for more paint and supplies, got Gamblin solvent in place of the turpenoid I had, which also takes a week to dry. I've been discouraged, but it sounds like that is not unusual at all. Okay, I've whined long enough. The set is wonderful, but I wish I had just spent the money and bought it all from the beginning. That is all. Love you all and all the lessons!!!!

Oil paint/ brushes

I love the oil paint, it’s the best quality I have ever used! The brushes really make a difference and I love the bristles and how they deliver the paint to canvas. However I did have a problem with two brush heads coming unglued and falling of during my first use of them.

Rich, creamy colors.

I am loving these paints! They are rich, creamy and very versatile. I've closely followed Eli's color tutorials, and have found these pigments to perform exactly as she describes.
